DESCRIPTION:European Heritage Hub Policy Talk \nArtificial Intelligence (AI) is changing how knowledge\, culture and history are shaped\, accessed and understood. It increasingly influences what we know and how we see the world. This has profound implications for the cultural heritage sector\, which has for long served as a trusted and accountable interface to public knowledge and culture. At the same time\, the growing influence of AI raises important social\, cultural\, (geo)political and (geo)economic questions\, particularly as technological power is  concentrated in the hands of a small number of private actors outside Europe. \nThis high-level Policy Talk is organised by Europeana in the frame of the European Heritage Hub EU-funded Preparatory Action\, with the vital input of the Hub consortium.  Europeana draws on over 15 years of experience in supporting the digital transformation of the sector\, including as steward of the common European data space for cultural heritage – a flagship action of the Culture Compass for Europe.

This course outlines and offers training on rights statements available which can support cultural heritage institution to communicating reuse conditions. \nIt offers information on how to identify the most accurate and adequate rights statement for the data you share online. \nThis course is particularly addressed at those working in cultural heritage institutions\, but can potentially also be useful to researchers\, teachers or creators wishing to use these materials (however\, note that it is not specialised for those audiences).

DESCRIPTION:What can cultural heritage providers do to enable access to in copyright audiovisual materials which are no longer commercially exploited\, but whose copyright is difficult or impossible to clear? \nThis webinar will explore whether the EU Out-of-Commerce works regime introduced by the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive (CDSM Directive) provides an effective solution to a long-standing problem: enabling access to audiovisual works and collections that are still in copyright but are no longer commercially exploited.
