DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage and the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol the 3-hour webinar is hosted online on April 8 from 2-5 pm. \nThe training event focuses on the importance of the use of paradata and metadata in the digital documentation of the past in 3D. Therefore it brings together experts from the field of Digital Cultural Heritage sharing their knowledge and experience of using paradata and working with it. \nIt is also possible to share your own experience about the topics presented on the event’s webiste. DESCRIPTION:The event\, organised by Europeana\, focuses on the ongoing debates about gender neutral and inclusive language in cultural heritage institutions. It addresses the problem of historical collection descriptions and catalogue entries using discriminating language. \nFor that purpose the project DE-BIAS developed a tool to detect terms in collection and object descriptions that do not conform to the present understanding of gender and inclusivity anymore. \nThe webinar is aimed at the german cultural heritage sector and will also be held in german. \nFind more information on the event’s website or visit directly the registration website.

SUMMARY:New Professionals’ Twin Talks
DESCRIPTION:Europeana organises an education and communication event aimed at new professionals and those who can take a profit of them on April 24th. \nThe need for digital skills becomes ever more pressing in the cultural heritage sector as well a in the education sector. Europeana Research began exploring the level of digitization in university curricula and how they could be further improved to prepare the scholars for the growing need for digital skills in cultural heritage. \nTherefore\, the Twin Talks will host farely new professionals in the sector who want to speak about their experiences in this matter\, state challenges they came across and provide recommendations what to improve about educational programs. \nYou can register here.
