EUreka3D is a project funded by the Digital Europe Programme of the European Union and closely connected with Europeana. The aim of the project is to support Europe’s digital transformation in the cultural heritage sector by offering capcity building resources and other services. They focus mainly on 3D digitization and the establishment of a workflow for access, storage and sharing of 3D digital objects.
After a 2-year duration the project is coming to an end and wants to draw conclusions about the outcomes, the things that went well and not so well and look into the future of 3D digitisation. For that reason, they wrote a summarizing booklet that can be downloaded on their website or by following the link provided here: EUreka3D: Good Practices for the 3D Digitisation of Cultural Heritage.
In addition, the recordings of the EUreka3D final conference, that took place in Girona on 13 December 2024, are now online. You can find them in their Youtube channel as well as the recordings of the Transforming Heritage Webinar series that focused on formats, authenticity and preservation for 3D.

While EUreka3D as a project is completed now, the successor is already waiting around the corner: the upcomong Digital Europe funded project is called EUreka3D-XR and builds on the foundations of the predecessor focusing on extended reality technologies.
