On August 26, 2024 the study ‘3D Models & Rights Management – A Report on Copyright and Other Rights Assessments for 3D Models in Europeana‘ by Dr. Andrea Wallace (University of Exeter, Glam-E Lab) was published.
The study maps the legal frameworks and rights management practices that apply to 3D models to establish whether the rights asserted in them are valid.
While the overall objective is to improve the application of accurate rights statements to the 3D models contributed to Europeana.eu, the report’s findings can be useful more broadly to any cultural heritage organisation developing and giving acces to 3D models.
